This was our second cruise ever and we enjoyed it, from start to finish. Our first cruise was a Caribbean cruise from florida (on Carnival), and this one was even better. We live in New York, which is why we booked this cruise (since it left from New York). We heard that the Dawn was a good ship and that there was a variety of dining options. We liked the freestyle dining, as we felt a little more constrained on our first cruise. When this type of dining we were able to plan our days less routined, which is what I prefer a vacation to be like.
I had never been to Bermuda before, but my wife had been there years ago. She only had good things to say about it, so I figured why not give it a try. I liked it too. It's a beautiful island, with very nice locals. We went on an island tour and hung out at one of the beaches (Elbow Beach) for a long time, which was really fun. We went shopping at Clocktower Mall, which was duty-free (always a plus).
The ship was nice - there were lots of entertainment options, including shows, games out on deck and the casino. There was also some live music every now and then in some of the lounges. Not too many families were on this cruise, probably because our cruise took place when kids were still in school (in May). However, I did notice that the kids program was very evident and it seemed good from what I saw. The kids would every now and then walk by in organized groups singing songs and stuff like that. The food was pretty good on this ship too, especially in the optional restaurants onboard (that you have to pay to eat at). The room service menu was pretty basic, but did its job when needed.
All in all, we plan to do another cruise in a few months from now (also on Norwegian). We're looking forward to it and hope that we enjoy it at least as much as we did this cruise.
