Overview
The Celebrity Xpedition is a unique ship, offering cruises in the Galapagos Islands (one of the most exotic destinations in the world). With less than 100 guests per sailing, along with a 2-to-1+ guest-to-staff ratio, this yacht-like cruise ship offers an intimate atmosphere with excellent service.

Because of her size, Celebrity Xpedition does not have the wide range of onboard features typically found on a Celebrity cruise ship. However, she does have great service, gourmet dining, and fabulous excursions made possible by offering one of the most exotic itineraries offered in the cruising industry. A cruise onboard the Xpedition is best suited to those travelers that are on the adventurous side, as the main highlight of a Galapagos Islands cruise is being able to venture out in the islands on an excursion (usually to interact, under the supervision of a professional, with the wide range of wildlife native to the islands).

A unique feature that Celebrity Cruises offers on Celebrity Xpedition is that all drinks (except select premium brands) and tips are included in an all-inclusive pricing format (whereas typically on the other Celebrity cruise ships, you're charged additional costs for such things).

Destinations & Itineraries
Year round, Celebrity Xpedition exclusively does 7-Night cruises throughout the Galapagos Islands. It is quite popular to book this cruise along with a land package offered by Celebrity Cruises, usually featuring a pre- and/or post-cruise land tour in Quito (the capital city of Ecuador, which the Galapagos Islands are a province of).

Staterooms
Being a smaller ship, there are a limited number of staterooms onboard Celebrity Xpedition, relative to the rest of the Celebrity cruise fleet. All staterooms onboard the Xpedition feature limited room service, duvet and pillow-top mattress, complimentary use of snorkel equipment and wetsuits, complimentary use of Frette bathrobes, upgraded binoculars for use and available for purchase. Furthermore, all of the staterooms onboard Celebrity Xpedition have an ocean view, of which only the Junior Suites and suites have a veranda (balcony).

Ocean View Staterooms: The Xpedition's most basic stateroom is a category XO Ocean View stateroom. Such a room is 145 square feet and features two convertible lower beds, windows, a sitting area, TV, telephone, safe, hair dryer, desk, air conditioning and refrigerator. A category XD is a Deluxe stateroom, which is 160 square feet. Aside from the larger size, such a stateroom has the same features as an XO. A category XP is known as a Premium stateroom. Such staterooms are located a deck higher than the XO and XD staterooms, and are also 160 square feet.

Suites: The Junior Suites and suites onboard the Xpedition are the only accommodations that feature a veranda. The Junior Suites, known as category XJ staterooms, are 180 square feet and feature everything that the ocean views have, as well as a veranda and sitting area with convertible junior sofa. A category XS stateroom is an Xpedition Suite and is 230 square feet in size. The most premium accommodation onboard Celebrity Xpedition is the one Penthouse Suite (category PS), which is 460 square feet.

Guests staying in a suite onboard Celebrity Xpedition benefit from the following special amenities: dinner with senior officer, welcome champagne, daily fruit basket, daily hors d'oeuvres, pillow menu and leather key holder.

Dining
Celebrity Cruises is well known for their gourmet cuisine and world-renowned chefs. The Celebrity Xpedition does not disapoint in this aspect.

The main dining room onboard Celebrity Xpedition is Darwin's Restaurant, featuring an open seating dining format (with dinner being served from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm). A deck up from this venue is the Beagle Grill, a casual place to grab a bite to eat.

A convenient option is the (limited) room service menu. It's a nice way to enjoy a morning, mid-day or late night snack.

Onboard Features
The first passenger level deck onboard Celebrity Xpedition is the Marina deck. On this deck of the ship is Darwin's Restaurant (the Xpedition's main dining room), as well as the salon, the beach club and various category XD and XO (ocean view) staterooms.

The next deck up is the Vista deck, which is where Beagle Grill is located. This is a casual dining venue where you can enjoy a wide range of grilled items. Also on this deck is the Discovery Lounge, a popular place to meet and mingle with fellow guests onboard the Xpedition. On each night of your cruise there will be a naturalist giving a lecture in this lounge. Located midship on this deck is the Guest Relations desk. There are also various XP and XO (ocean view) staterooms on the Vista deck.

The third passenger deck onboard Celebrity Xpedition is the Panorama deck. This deck features the Blue Finch Bar, a popular place to enjoy a cocktail and the view of the ship's surroundings. Also on this deck is the Xpedition's single Penthouse suite and its Xpedition Suites and Junior Suite.

The Xpedition's top deck is the Sunrise deck. On this deck is a hot tub, as well as the ship's spa (featuring a sauna). There is also outdoor lounge seating available on the Sunrise deck, making this deck a popular place to catch some sun and relax throughout the day.

Dress Code and Attire
Three types of clothing are recommended for a Celebrity cruise: casual shipboard attire (day wear), conservative port wear, and eveningwear.

Daywear includes the following: slacks or pants, blouses or shirts, knit tops or polo shirts. A pair of sneakers or rubber-soled shoes (for deck sports), and a swimsuit cover-up (for cool areas on the ship).

Port wear for women includes: a casual dress, skirt and blouse, or pants outfit. Port wear for men includes: casual pants or walking shorts, and polo-type shirts. Comfortable walking shoes are a must.

Eveningwear is broken up by Celebrity Cruises into two main categories, Smart Casual and Above and Formal. Celebrity Cruises classifies Smart Casual and Above as follows: For Ladies: Skirt or pants complemented by sweater or blouse. Gentlemen: Pants (no holes, rips or tears) with sports shirt or sweater. Shirts must have sleeves. T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant at any time. Shorts and flip flops are not allowed in the evening hours. Celebrity Cruises classifies Formal attire as follows: For Ladies: Cocktail dress, gown or dressy pantsuit. For Gentlemen: Tuxedo, suit or dinner jacket with slacks.

Here's a general guideline that Celebrity Cruises provides for its nightly dining types:
Cruise Length Smart Casual and Above Formal
4-Night 3 1
5-Night 4 1
6-Night 5 1
7-Night 5 2
8-Night 6 2
9-Night 7 2
10-Night 8 2
11-Night 9 2
12-Night 9 3
13-Night 10 3
14-Night 11 3
15-Night 12 3

Children Programs
Celebrity Cruises' youth program is called the X-Club. This program is available year-round and is based out of a section of the ship known as the Fun Factory. The program starts in the Fun Factory at 9 am each day during days at sea, or 30 minutes prior to arrival in port during port days. The Fun Factory closes at 10 pm each night. The X-Club is in a five-tiered age-based system as is as follows:

Todder Time (under 3 years old)
Ship MatesSM (ages 3-6)
Celebrity CadetsSM (ages 7-9)
EnsignsSM (ages 10-12)
Admiral TsSM (ages 13-17)

Children participating in X-Club events must be at least 3 years old and potty trained. However, if your child is under 3 or isn't potty trained you can accompany them to the Fun Factory to take part in activities. On the first day of the cruise there is a Open House event, so that parents can get all the information they want concerning the program. Popular features found in the Fun Factory include various crafts, games, toys, arcade games, music, karaoke, a ball pit and more. There are special teen events and explorations scheduled for the older members of the X-Club.

Alcohol Policy
