Found cruising in either the Caribbean or Europe, Celebrity Summit is one of Celebrity Cruises' Summit Class ships. She's the sister ship of Celebrity Summit, Celebrity Infinity and Celebrity Constellation. Summit is a beautiful ship, featuring gourmet dining options, a wonderful spa (known as the AquaSpa), a huge main show room, a casino, pools, whirlpools and much more.
Celebrity Summit will be featuring cruises in the following regions (subject to change, based on the cruise line's discretion):
Celebrity Summit features a wide range of stateroom types. From basic interior staterooms to large and luxurious full suites. All staterooms onboard the Summit feature two lower beds convertible to queen size (unless noted otherwise), telephone and voicemail, air conditioning, a safe, hair dryer, 100% Egyptian cotton linens, 100% cotton towels, complimentary use of bath robes, complimentary 24-hour room service and a mini bar (of which the items that you consume are charged for).
Interior Staterooms: The interior staterooms onboard Celebrity Summit are 170 square feet in size. All interior staterooms have a sitting area, a private bathroom and a 20" TV, while some have a sofa bed. Interior staterooms are available on the following decks: Continental, Plaza, Panorama, Sky and Vista.
Ocean View Staterooms: The Summit's ocean view staterooms are exactly the same size and layout as her interior staterooms, but feature a window. Ocean view staterooms are available on the following decks: Continental, Penthouse, Plaza, Panorama, Sky and Vista.
Veranda (Balcony) Staterooms: The veranda staterooms onboard Celebrity Summit range in size from 170 to 271 square feet, with a veranda that's anywhere from 38 square feet to 242 square feet (depending on the specific stateroom). All of the veranda staterooms feature floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors, leading out to a private veranda. The most basic veranda stateroom is a category 2C, known as a deluxe ocean view stateroom with veranda. The next step up is a category CC room, which is a Celebrity Concierge Class stateroom, featuring a large sitting area and benefits including enhanced service, priority embarkation/debarkation, a menu of pillows, preference on shore excursions, VIP invitations to events, dining and seating preference, duvets and pillow-top mattresses, fresh fruit and flowers, welcome champagne and a massaging showerhead. The Family Ocean View Stateroom with Veranda (category FV) is intended for families traveling together, and features a sitting area with two sofa beds and a privacy partition.
Suites: There are many suites onboard Celebrity Summit. The most basic suite is called a Sky Suite (category SS), which is 251 square feet and has a 57 square foot private veranda. The next step up is a Celebrity Suite (category CS). Such a room is 467 square feet, but does not have a balcony (there are floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows instead). The CS suites feature an internet station, a music center, a separate living room with dining and sitting area, two entertainment centers with plasma-screen TVs and VCRs, a walk-in closet with vanity table and a bath that has a tub with whirlpool jets. A Royal Suite is 538 square feet in size, with a 195 square foot balcony. Some of the amazing features include a verandah with whirlpool tub, along with the features listed for a CS suite. The largest accommodations onboard Celebrity Summit are her Penthouse Suites (category PS). These suites are 1,432 square feet in size, and feature a huge 1,098 square foot verandah. Among the many features of a PS is a foyer, separate living and dining areas, a baby grand piano, a butler's pantry, a master bedroom with two (convertible) lower beds, exercise equipment, a dressing room with vanity, a marble master bath with whirlpool tub and separate shower, a powder room with shower, motorized draperies, lights and security system, a verandah with whirlpool, lounge seating and much more!
Guests staying in a suite onboard the Summit benefit from a European-style butler service. This service features the following special amenities: priority check-in and departing, priority luggage delivery at boarding, welcome champagne, in-stateroom afternoon tea service, evening hors d'oeuvres daily, complimentary espresso & cappuccino, shoeshine service, delivery of requested board games, daily news delivery, assistance with unpacking/packing, full breakfast, in-suite lunch & dinner service, dining room seating preference, 100% cotton oversized bath towels, complimentary use of bathrobes, a private portrait sitting, and the opportunity to book an in-suite massage.
Celebrity Cruises is well known for their gourmet cuisine and world-renowned chefs. Onboard Celebrity Summit are a wide range of dining choices, ranging from casual options like their buffet to very upscale dining rooms and specialty restaurants.
The Normandie Restaurant is Celebrity Summit's optional specialty restaurant. There is a $30 per person cover charge to dine in this restaurant. It's not too cheap, but it's well worth the gourmet five-star cuisine served there.
The main dining room onboard Celebrity Summit is the Cosmopolitan Restaurant. It's a two-level dining room, featuring two main seating times (main seating at 6:15 pm and second seating at 8:30 pm). While you'll have an assigned table for dinner (typically with the same wait staff on each night of your cruise), breakfast and lunch are served in an open seating format in this restaurant.
The Waterfall Cafe is Celebrity Summit's main buffet area. It's an often busy area of the ship, serving a wide range of food (usually including salads, pastas, sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, pizza and more). Those looking for a less formal dinner may choose this venue, as at night a section of the Waterfall Grill is served by a wait staff. The buffet breakfast is generally served from 7:30 am to 10:00 pm, while the lunch buffet is typically available from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A great, and convenient, option is the 24-hour room service menu. It's a popular way to enjoy a morning, mid-day or late night snack.
The Continental deck is Celebrity Summit's first passenger level deck. On this deck you'll find a variety of interior and ocean view staterooms. There are no public areas on the Continental deck.
The Summit's next deck up is the Plaza deck. This deck also features a bunch of interior and ocean view staterooms, as well as the first level of the Celebrity Theater (the Summit's main show lounge, located forward on this deck). Also on the Plaza deck is the Grand Foyer, the Shore Excursions desk, the Guest Relations desk, the wine cellar, The Normandie Restaurant (the Summit's optional specialty restaurant), a demonstration kitchen, a few meeting rooms and a conference center (with a cinema).
The Summit's third passenger level deck is the Promenade deck. Forward on this deck is the second level of the Celebrity Theater. Also on this deck is the photo gallery and Michael's Club (great for a cocktail or for someone that enjoys live piano music). Fortunes Casino is a popular place to be onboard this ship, especially after one of the shows ends in the Celebrity Theater. You can also find Rendez-Vous Lounge (which features a dance floor) and the lower level of the Cosmopolitan Restaurant (Celebrity Summit's main dining room) on the Promenade deck. The 24-hour internet cafe, known as Online@Celebrity, is also on this deck.
The next deck up is the Entertainment deck, where the third (and highest) level of the Celebrity Theater is located. Also on this deck are various boutiques (located in the Emporium), the Cova Cafe (serving latte, espresso, croissant and various sweet treats), the Champagne Bar, the Martini Bar and the upper level of the Cosmopolitan Restaurant.
Celebrity Summit's fifth deck is the Penthouse deck. As may be expected, there are many suites on this deck (including the Summit's Royal Suites and, of course, the ship's two Penthouse Suites). There are no public rooms on the Summit's Penthouse deck. Located midship on this deck is another internet cafe area (Online@Celebrity).
On the Summit's sixth deck (the Vista deck) you'll find a bunch of interior, ocean view and balcony staterooms. There are also two luxurious Celebrity Suites on this deck (located midship).
The next deck up on the Summit is the Panorama deck, which is also filled with various staterooms. On this deck there are some interior staterooms, as well as many balconies. There are a couple of ocean views and suites on this deck as well. The first floor of Words, the Summit's two-story library, is located midship on this deck.
The Sky deck is Celebrity Summit's eighth passenger level deck. Located midship on this deck is the second floor of Words, the Summit's library. There are many staterooms located on the Sky deck. Among them are many balcony staterooms, as well as a few interiors, a couple of ocean views, and even a few suites.
Midship on the Summit's Resort deck you'll find one of the most popular areas onboard, the Waterfall Pool. There are many lounge chairs located throughout this deck, great for relaxing and sun bathing. Also on this deck (located forward) is the wonderful AquaSpa, which contains the AquaSpa Cafe (featuring a light and health-conscious menu), the Persian Garden (featuring a private sauna), a hair salon, various treatment rooms and a lot of cardiovascular equipment. Located towards the rear of the ship on this deck is the Waterfall Cafe, where you can also find the Waterfall Grill. This is a popular casual buffet-style dining area.
The Sunrise deck is Celebrity Summit's tenth deck. Located forward on this deck is Summit, an observation lounge (called Cosmos) that is popular at night for its music and dancing. Also on this deck is the Summit's jogging track and an acupuncture clinic. The Conservatory is a nice place to enjoy beautiful floral arrangements. Also on the Sunrise deck is Shipmates Fun Factory, the main base for the children's program. Conveniently located nearby this area is a video arcade.
The highest deck on the Summit is the Sports deck, where you can take part in a game of basketball, among other activities.
Three types of clothing are recommended for a Celebrity cruise: casual shipboard attire (day wear), conservative port wear, and eveningwear.
Daywear includes the following: slacks or pants, blouses or shirts, knit tops or polo shirts. A pair of sneakers or rubber-soled shoes (for deck sports), and a swimsuit cover-up (for cool areas on the ship).
Port wear for women includes: a casual dress, skirt and blouse, or pants outfit. Port wear for men includes: casual pants or walking shorts, and polo-type shirts. Comfortable walking shoes are a must.
Eveningwear is broken up by Celebrity Cruises into two main categories, Smart Casual and Above and Formal. Celebrity Cruises classifies Smart Casual and Above as follows: For Ladies:Skirt or pants complemented by sweater or blouse. Gentlemen: Pants (no holes, rips or tears) with sports shirt or sweater. Shirts must have sleeves. T-shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps and pool wear are not allowed in the main restaurant at any time. Shorts and flip flops are not allowed in the evening hours. Celebrity Cruises classifies Formal attire as follows: For Ladies: Cocktail dress, gown or dressy pantsuit. For Gentlemen: Tuxedo, suit or dinner jacket with slacks.

Smart Casual and Above
Celebrity Cruises' youth program is called the X-Club. This program is available year-round and is based out of a section of the ship known as the Fun Factory. The program starts in the Fun Factory at 9 am each day during days at sea, or 30 minutes prior to arrival in port during port days. The Fun Factory closes at 10 pm each night. The X-Club is in a five-tiered age-based system as is as follows:
Children participating in X-Club events must be at least 3 years old and potty trained. However, if your child is under 3 or isn't potty trained you can accompany them to the Fun Factory to take part in activities. On the first day of the cruise there is a Open House event, so that parents can get all the information they want concerning the program. Popular features found in the Fun Factory include various crafts, games, toys, arcade games, music, karaoke, a ball pit and more. There are special teen events and explorations scheduled for the older members of the X-Club.
Celebrity Cruises recommends the following gratuity guidelines (per guest, per day):
Assistance Chief Housekeeper: $0.50
Stateroom Service: $3.50
Stateroom Service (Concierge Class): $4.00
Assistant Maitre'd: $1.00
Assistant Waiter: $2.00
Butler (for suites only): $3.50
These gratuity rates apply to guests of all ages. Please be aware that a 15% gratuity charge will be automatically added to your bar bills. Gratuities for room service, bellboys, casino and spa staff is at your discretion.
You can pay for your gratuities by one of the following ways:
- In cash (at the end of your cruise)
- Having the cruise line add them to your SeaPass (onboard) account
- Pre-paying them (by having your travel or booking agent add them to your reservation)
The official minimum drinking age on all Celebrity cruise ships is 21. However, on cruises departing from European, Australian and South American countries, where the legal drinking age is typically under 21, a parent that is sailing with their 18 to 20 year old son(s)/daughter(s) may sign a waiver allowing them to consume alcoholic beverages.
Guests are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages onboard. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased in ports of call or from the onboard shops will be stored by the ship and delivered to your stateroom on the last day of sailing.
The official minimum gambling age on all Celebrity cruise ships is 18 years of age. Guests under 18 are not even allowed to be inside the casino. Proof of age is required. Some Alaskan ports require you to be 21 years of age to gamble. All gaming operations are performed in U.S. currency.
