One of the most popular tourist attractions to visit in Los Angeles is Grauman's Chinese Theatre, a famous movie theater in Hollywood, which opened in 1927. In front of the theater (formerly known as Mann's Chinese Theatre) you can find about 200 footprints and handprints of famous celebrities.
Other popular tourist attractions in Los Angeles include the Kodak Theatre (the usual host of the Academy Awards ceremony), Capitol Records Tower (the home of various recording studios), Chinatown, Little Tokyo, La Brea Tar Pits, the Hollywood Bowl (the site of many concerts) and the world-famous Hollywood Sign, a true icon located in the Hollywood Hills.
Not surprisingly, there is a wide range of popular shopping areas in Los Angeles. Included in these are Rodeo Drive, Melrose Avenue, the Beverly Center, Robertson Boulevard and The Grove.
Sunset Strip, found in popular West Hollywood, is a very popular spot for nightlife in Los Angeles (located on Sunset Avenue). In this area you can find an array of restaurants, night clubs and boutiques. Other popular nightlife areas include Downtown Los Angeles, Silver Lake and Hollywood.
Since it's such a large and populated city, there are many major sports teams that can be found playing within the Los Angeles area. For instance, the Los Angeles Dodgers Major League Baseball team, as well as the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers NBA basketball teams can all be found playing in Los Angeles, among many other L.A.-based teams.
Port Location & Parking Fees The Port of Los Angeles is located in San Pedro, about 18 miles from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), with a driving time of about 25 minutes (depending on traffic).
Taxis are available to the cruise terminal from the airport (and vice versa). Another option is to purchase ground transfers through the cruise line.
