Tourist Attractions
The main street in Marseille is the Canebière, a historic high street that runs from the Vieux (old) Port to the Réformés quarter. Vieux Port is the city's main harbor and marina (and is its main tourist area), and is a great place to find a meal or relax at a waterfront café. The old port is right next to two large ports, the Fort Saint Nicholas and the Fort Saint Jean. Many cruisers will opt to go to this area and just walk around all day, enjoying all there is to offer in this popular part of the city.

The Centre Bourse is the main shopping area in Marseille. Also located in this area is the Musée d'Histoire, the historical museum of Marseille.

Marseille is especially well known for its culture and history. The Opera House is Marseille's main cultural attraction. It is located near the old port and features a few operas each year (usually taking place between September and June). Aside from the Opera House, there are various theatres, museums, clubs, bars, restaurants and art galleries.

The Abbey of Saint-Victor is one of the oldest places of Christian worship in France. It has a long and storied history and is still the site of a annual medieval -based ceremony that blesses the archbishop.

The Notre-Dame de la Garde is a basilica in Marseille that is located on top of the hill of La Garde (the highest natural point in Marseille). The terrace offers an amazing view of the city.
