In very exciting news for past passengers of Holland America Line, they announced several enhancements to the Mariner Society, their past passenger rewards program. Among the rewards in the Mariner Society are onboard discounts, special pricing and free cruise fares for third and fourth guests when booking future cruises.
"We wanted to create a program that gives our loyal Mariner members fantastic perks, cruise values and enhances that sense of pride they feel after having sailed on several cruises with Holland America Line," said Richard D. Meadows, CTC, executive vice president, marketing, sales and guest programs. "We have one of the highest repeat guest ratios in the cruise industry and our loyal guests deserve the valuable benefits in our new Mariner Society Rewards Program."
There are four tiers in the Mariner Society Rewards Program: Star Mariner, Two-Star Mariner, Three-Star Mariner and Four-Star Mariner. All guests that sail with Holland America are automatically placed in the Mariner Society after their first cruise with them. Members can get to better tiers by earning "cruise days" by taking more Holland America cruises, as well as earn bonus "cruise days" by booking suites or by doing onboard spending.
The benefits enjoyed by members of the Mariner Society Rewards Program are as follows:
• Star Mariner: special offers on select sailings, 50% discounts for third and fourth guests on select sailings, hosted sailings with Holland America Line Ambassadors, a Welcome Back Embarkation Brunch on future Holland America cruises, a subscription to the Mariner Magazine and a Mariner Champagne Brunch on future cruises.
• Two-Star Mariner (reached after 30 cruise day credits have been earned): all of the amenities of Star Mariner members, plus shopping discounts (including 15% off items purchased from ShopHollandAmerica.com and 10% off of logo apparel items available onboard Holland America's ships), complimentary ship photo, and a exclusive annual cruise planner and special recognition pin.
• Three-Star Mariner (reached after 75 cruise day credits have been earned): all of the amenities that Two-Star Mariner members get, plus 10% off spa treatments, 25% off all wine packages, mini-bar purchases, Explorations Cafe drinks and alternative restaurant surcharges, as well as advanced notice of new itineraries and waived air deviation fees.
• Four-Star Mariner (reached after 200 cruise day credits have been earned): all of the amenities enjoyed by Three-Star Mariners, plus free fare for third and fourth guests on select sailings, complimentary wine tastings and laundry/pressing, 50% off all wine packages, mini-bar purchases, Explorations Cafe drinks and alternative restaurant surcharges, 15% off all logo apparel items purchased onboard Holland America's ships, priority tender service and check-in, priority shore excursion pre-booking, and a free subscription to Food & Wine magazine or Travel + Leisure magazine.
The new Mariner Society Rewards program will roll out to the entire Holland America fleet by October 18, 2009.
