Peter Deilmann Cruises to Cease River Cruise Operations in 2010

Peter Deilmann Cruises, an upscale German cruise line, announced that they will be closing their river cruise division in 2010, citing financial difficulties as the cause for this change. The remainder of their 2009 river cruises will operate as Peter Deilmann Cruisesscheduled, and their sole "ocean fleet" vessel, MS Deutschland, will continue operating in 2010. This means that those that have booked 2009 river cruises with Peter Deilmann Cruises, or any cruises on MS Deutschland, are still going to be able to take such cruises.

A new home for the ships currently in Peter Deilmann Cruises' river cruise division has not been announced, as for now it seems that the ships will be dry-docked during 2010. It is being speculated, and is quite likely, that the river cruise ships will be sold off to another company.
