Barbados
Done your shopping? Going to the beach? While some passengers travel up the west coast, we found 1 of the best beaches at the port’s doorstep. A $5 U.S. taxi ride down the main shopping street of Barbados brought us to Carlisle Bay, “Browns Beach”, a must see on google earth. You don’t have to sit on a rented lounge from a meglamart outfits in Barbados. This white sand beach is very wide and is an easy walk, back to our driver; he pulled off the main road onto the actual beach beside a seaside Bar/ Snack bar named Dee’s. Yes everyone has a lounge and umbrella for you to rent, however this was no corporate outfit, just some locals with good conversation. This was 1 of the cleanest beaches ever. We were able to wade out nicely, with no sudden drop offs. Some horses from a nearby racetrack were out exercising in the waves. Whether you take in the entire length of this beach during a walk, or patronize one of the large companies renting “The Boat Yard, Harbour Lights, Lobster Alive” lounge chair the beach or a more intimate place such as Dee’s Bar. You will have an amazing and safe day at the beach! |
