Default How is NCL's Freestyle Dining?

I was just wondering what people thought about NCL's freestyle dining setup? I've never taken an NCL cruise before and wanted get some feedback on it. I did take a Princess cruise, but didn't do the anytime dining. I like assigned dining but would be up for a change.

Hi Kim,

Welcome to our message boards! I happen to like NCL quite a bit. Their "Freestyle Cruising" program allows their guests to really have a unstructured cruising experience.

I know that this type of setup is not ideal for everyone, especially those that really like to have an exact dining time, with the same wait staff each night, and don't want to even wait 5 minutes for a table. However, if you don't mind waiting a couple of minutes and don't need to have the same waiter each night, it's really nice to be able to show up at the dining room whenever you want (within the appropriate dining hours, of course).

I certainly think that it's worth giving it a shot, but you should certainly consider the pros and cons before making a decision (which is why it's smart to ask for others' opinions, as you did).

I love open seating! I was excited when some of the other cruise lines (like Royal and Carnival) started to experiment with it.
