Are Alaska cruises good for families?

I'm considering doing an Alaska cruise with my family this year (on Royal Caribbean). Is that a good idea for a family? I have 2 kids (two boys - 12 and 14) and wasn't sure if it would be a good family trip or not. Thanks for any information...

Absolutely! I've been on 2 Alaska cruises with my family (my wife, myself and our boy and girl) and we've all had a great time and would love to do it again. There's a lot to do up there and it's really a great place to visit. Don't hesitate!

I'd love to do a Alaska cruise eventually, but I still need to go to a few other places first.

My family went to Alaska on a Princess cruise a few years ago. We had a very good time. You're not going to like it though if you're not a nature loving type of person. Most of the excursions involve city tours, gold mining, river tours, fishing, etc.

I would really like to go to Alaska eventually. My family is big on nature so that would be right up our alley.
