Default Azamara vs. Celebrity??

What's the difference between Azamara and Celebrity? I know that they are the same company, but didn't know what the differences where. Thanks for any information!

I haven't been on an Azamara cruise, but I'm sure it's wonderful. I happen to love Celebrity. Azamara is Celebrity's ultra-premium product (from what I know about it).

That's correct - In fact, Azamara's ships were originally going to be a part of Celebrity's fleet. However, Celebrity ended up deciding that these ships really offered a different experience and wanted to market and brand them separately. Azamara is more casual as far as dress codes go, as they have a "resort casual" dress code onboard their ships. Plus, they have an open dining setup, whereas Celebrity has only assigned dining. Azamara is typically much more expensive than Celebrity, and their ships are generally smaller than Celebrity's ships. Azamara offers more unique, and longer (in general), itineraries than Celebrity. Azamara focuses primarily in Europe and Asia, while Celebrity offers a wide range of destinations (including Alaska, which Azamara does not).

Please let me know if there's any other aspect that you'd like compared between the two brands. I hope that his helped to separate the two lines for you.r

Thanks for the details on Azamara. I think I'd like it. Maybe I'll give it a shot - I saw they have a bunch of Europe cruises on sale right now.

You should! Azamara and Celebrity are both nice products. I agree that Azamara is generally more expensive, yet also more casual.

I am trying to decide between Azamara, Oceania, and one of the new Solstice class Celebrity ships for a European sailing next year.

Has anyone been on any or all of these lines/ships?

Thanks.

Sweetie

That's a tough decision to make. If you're looking for something less formal I'd go with either Azamara or Oceania, as I personally feel that Celebrity is more formal overall. Another thing to consider is if you'd like to have assigned or open dining, since Azamara and Oceania has open and Celebrity has assigned. I've been on Azamara (Quest) and Celebrity (Solstice) and had a nice time on both. Generally I'm easy to please as long as I get what I'm paying for. If I had to decide myself I might go with Oceania, just because I've heard good things about them (from a few friends) and I've never cruised with them before. Not sure if this helped at all, but I hope it did!!

Yes, it is a tough decision and I appreciate your input. As I posted on another thread, I think my first preference is the new Oceania Marina. But, it's hard to determine if my initial thoughts are valid. Oceania has not published itineraries or pricing yet...

Thanks again for your thoughts.
